The World Peace Walk Blossoming with Flowers of Loving-Kindness
“Ehipassiko”
Transcending barriers of race, caste, religion, and nationality, the World Peace Walk, also known as the “Maitriya Pada Yathrawa” (Pilgrimage of Loving-Kindness), initiated by the Most Venerable Pannakara Thero and fellow members of the Maha Sangha with the aim of spreading loving-kindness, compassion, and peace to all humanity, successfully passed through the Warakapola Division on the 25th and 26th.
On the evening of the 25th, the venerable monks arrived at Dudley Senanayake Central College, Tholangamuwa, where the Most Venerable Pannakara Thero delivered an inspiring and meaningful Dhamma sermon to those gathered.
It is no secret that a large number of individuals and institutions contributed in various ways and sincerely wished for the success of this noble undertaking.
In particular, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and respect to the members of the Maha Sangha and religious leaders of all places of worship within our division; Manoj Rajapaksa; the Chairman and members of the Pradeshiya Sabha; the Acting District Secretary of Kegalle and the staff of the District Secretariat; the Principal, teachers, staff, students, and Old Boys’ Association of Dudley Senanayake Central College, Tholangamuwa; the Assistant Divisional Secretary, Assistant Director, Administrative Grama Niladhari, and all staff members of the Warakapola Divisional Secretariat; field officers, police officers, and other security personnel serving within the Warakapola Division; the staff of the Warakapola Hospital and the Medical Officer of Health Office; all government and private institutions within the division; and the many businesses and community organizations that generously provided assistance through refreshments, decorations, sound systems, tents, lighting arrangements, and other forms of support.
We also remember with deep appreciation the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Catholic communities of the Warakapola Division, whose unity and cooperation made this sacred occasion possible. Without the collective support and goodwill of all these individuals and organizations, it would not have been possible to ensure the complete success of this noble event.
Crossing geographical boundaries and bringing together people from all walks of life, the Pilgrimage of Loving-Kindness, led by the unwavering determination and spiritual commitment of the Most Venerable Pannakara Thero and the Maha Sangha, stands as a remarkable step toward a more peaceful world. Despite many challenges, every step taken by the venerable monks serves as a guiding milestone on the path toward global peace and harmony.
We sincerely pray that the noble aspirations, determination, and spiritual merit of the Most Venerable Pannakara Thero and the Maha Sangha be fulfilled, and that their mission continue to inspire peace, compassion, and unity throughout the world.
